Years ago, being a teacher was a great job. You were paid well to teach a classroom of good kids who listened intently and actually learned a thing or two. Well, times have definitely changed. Today's kids are unruly, they don't listen to a thing any authority figure says, they won't sit still, they won't stop talking and their attention spans are shorter than their stature; even the ones in preschool. What is going on with kids today? Well, it could have something to do with the fact that many kids are now being diagnosed with a certain disorder. This disorder is called attention deficit hyperactive disorder in children. It's marked by all the symptoms you read above and it's the cause of many of these kids to put on medication. Is medication the answer? We can only guess.
Masking The Problem?
All of these doctors diagnosing attention deficit hyperactive disorder in children may just be covering up the problem by prescribing medication. Is medication, then, a proper attention deficit hyperactive disorder treatment? These medications slow the children down, they help them to focus, but they also tend to make them more docile, less creative, less inquisitive and many parents object to their children being put on drugs. More and more people are rejecting the diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactive disorder in children; saying that it's just poor parenting or poor diet. They don't want their kids on drugs, and they don't want anyone else's kids on drugs; they think it's the parents fault. And there may be some truth to that.
No Discipline
All you have to do is go to your local grocery store to see a kid throwing a fit and a parent standing idly by, not doing a thing to stop it. There's no discipline nowadays. There are no rules, there is no spanking; there is only time out. Time out won't do a thing for a child that acts out. It's no wonder that teachers have their hands full. Instead of taking your child to the doctor for attention deficit hyperactive disorder in children, try disciplining your child, try giving them chores, try teaching them how to behave and do all of this without the use of medications.
Teachers are quitting in record numbers and it's not because of pay, though that has something to do with it; it has more to do with the fact that kids are unruly and more and more kids are being diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactive disorder in children when it may be the fault of the parents and their home life all along.
