Outpatient detox

The pros and cons of outpatient detox compared to inpatient. If you choose outpatient detox to stop using drugs one advantage is you will not have to take of work or school for a couple of weeks like you would if you choose inpatient rehab. Another good thing is that it is a lot less expensive because you are not being housed in a inpatient detox setting.

Now the advantages of inpatient detox are you will be monitored around the clock 24 7 in a safe environment. While there all of your basic needs will met right there plus you will get some very valuable information from groups that you will attend plus your individual counseling.

The thing is you will have to choose for yourself between outpatient deox and inpatient but you will have to take action if you are serious about getting clean. One thing you could do is look on the internet for an outpatient deox center near you. I would also see how they are rated and how their program actually works.

I have personally been to both to try to stop drug abuse. If you are just getting clean I would recommend the inpatient setting because of the temptation to use will be a lot less. Another reason is that you will be in a structured environment. Many of us have known nothing but drug dens and bars from a long time so this will take some getting use to. One other good this is that it will prepare you for when you leave rehab by getting you familiar with lectures, group, addiction therapy, and 12 step meetings. These things are still going to be necessary when we are allowed to go home.

If you go to outpatient you will miss out on all of the things that inpatient has to offer. Why not make up your mind right now to go to one or the other. Your life really does depend on it rather you know it or not.

Good luck
