Stroop Charts | CIT

The Stroop Charts have many uses in daily practical applications.

Suppose you are reading a text book, bible or math problem and you are not able to "see" what is being shown to you? Perhaps you just had a conversation and it caused stress, anger, fear or misunderstanding.

The problem is memory, if your memory is stuck, it needs a helping hand. Stroop Charts can help you release the frozen images and perhaps see a different side to the matter at hand.

Our memory plays a huge role in our day-to-day processing of all things we experience.

And often it meets itself and causes a conflict, "that is not how I remember it" or "that is how I remember it," while the truth is, both could be incorrect or partial information.

It would depend on many things, did you store it, "the memory" while you were under the influence of a substance, drug, alcohol, or duress? That can create a distorted memory. But since it is stored, it is a valid memory.

This is also true in the storing of a favorite book, bible verse, or math problem.

What we do not consider, these "memories" attach to an emotion at the same time.

Emotional Memories | Interrupted

"I hate Brussels sprouts" or "I love Chocolate" are emotional memories. Memories based on an experience and that could have happened at the age of two or three and affect the outcome of an event happening at the age of thirty, forty, et cetera.

If we see this, the question becomes, how is it possible to "interrupt" that old memory and perhaps, introduce a new one?

This means, the tools taught in R2D, are not simply addressing substance problems. The tools are adapting to your needs.

Many tools taught in R2D are multi faceted and based in a simple self-esteem value: "if you like it, use it."

Since the Stroop Chart is such an easy tool to use and practice, R2D created PDF files for you to download for free.

Click on each link below and you can download them for free. Print them on a color printer, and use them where you need to "stop" a mental process and see if you can then, see something different. Or you simply bookmark this site, and have them available when needed. Each cover of the books offered in R2D has the Stroop Chart. It was, by design, to give you a tool from the moment you picked up the book.

Stroop Chart Practical Applications:

What are the practical applications besides breaking a craving experienced from withdrawals as described in Craving Interrupter Tools or CIT.?

One example: You are reading a complicated text and your mind is telling you "this is hard."

The "idea" is planted "this is hard", a frozen thought, actually blocking anything "new" from getting past that original idea which will cause a blockage "this is hard."

This is a perfect time, to relax, use a Stroop Chart to "unlock" that frozen thought, to work past the "old idea" to see if anything new reveals itself.
