Affiliate Marketing Programs - Be Selective About Who's Products You Promote

There are literally hundreds of affiliate marketing programs online, with merchants practically begging you to promote their products. There are also some affiliate marketing programs where the merchants are very selective about who they have promoting their products and using their brand name. That's understandable because it takes a lot of both time and money to build up a respectable brand name on or offline and some merchants simply do not want to have their company information associated with a website that appears to be sub-standard.

All that you need to do to find affiliate marketing programs in your area of interest is to go to Google or any other major search engine and type in your primary keyword phrase + affiliate program. An example would be "running shoes + affiliate program", without the quotes.

There are some very good hidden gems out there that can be found this way. However, you can also get ripped off if you're not careful. Since these merchants are not regulated by anyone else there's always a chance that someone might try to get the best of your hard earned efforts. Hey, it happens sometimes and if it didn't, I wouldn't bring it up. Just watch your backside.

Personally, I prefer to find most of my affiliate marketing programs through major networks like, Linkshare, Commission Junction or Clickbank. There are plenty of others to choose from too, but these are three of the biggest.

If you are new to affiliate marketing you are definitely in the right place at the right time. Just remember to watch your backside and be selective about which affiliate marketing programs you promote.
