Infected Toenail - Diagnosis and Treatment of an Infected Toenail by Brett Dignam

An infected toenail is a common problem, affecting as much as 15% of the population. The actual diagnosis of your infection is onychomycosis, more commonly known as toenail fungus. Some symptoms include:

- Yellow or brown discoloration of the affected toenails

- Thickening of the toenails

- Rough or crumbling nails

- Appearance of spots on the nail

- Separation from nail bed

- Smelly puss or debris underneath nails

An infected toenail is rather stubborn and it is quite hard to get rid of. There are a number of home remedies you may have come across online, including Listerine, Vicks Vapor Rub, olive oil and many more. Unfortunately, such remedies have a poor success rate of less than 5% and some even do more harm than good.

An infected toenail needs a good, quality treatment. There are a number of products on the market, however, most are ineffective. The most dominant product is Lamisil, which claims a 70% success rate, but unfortunately carries many major set backs. Not only does it cost more than a plasma television, the use of Lamisil always comes with side effects. The most common side effects include: vomiting, headaches, dizziness, nausea and diarrhea. Lamisil has also caused liver damage in some cases. Would you be willing to suffer the aforementioned in exchange for clear nails?

Recommended Treatment

Fortunately, there are cheaper, safer and even more effective products on the market. One in particular has really revolutionised all toenail fungus treatments. It is rapidly rising in popularity and is now the highest selling product. Studies show that it has a 90% success rate with no reported side effects. The product is called Zeta Clear.
