A new social-networking Site TogetherVille is aimed at children aged six to ten years old. On Togetherville, kids can play games, create artwork, watch pre-approved YouTube videos and comment to friends by using a drop-down menu of pre-approved messages which called "quips".

Togetherville is launched for children and their parents, and the site is designed to be a safe haven on the Web for children. Think of it as somewhat of a Facebook for kids that allow parents to oversee their children's online activities and also encourages interaction within a child's actual community, but in an online manner.

The site is completely ad-free, and parents have full access to what their children are doing on the site. Kid's accounts must be created by their parents using their own Facebook logins. Parents can approve or reject their children's friends and see what types of activities or games their kids are up to. On this site parents can send their kids virtual gifts, review their activities by using their facebook account. Togetherville plans to make money by selling virtual goodies for its games.

The best part is that Togetherville is free, although they will institute an allowance system in the future. Via the allowance feature, kids can purchase virtual items as well as games. Parents can either buy credits, or children can earn them with certain achievements on the site. It teaches young children the basics of internet navigation and social networking in a safe, secure environment. Its features are designed to foster a community between children, their parents and other relatives.
