If you're thinking of starting an eBay business you'll need to make sure it's done right or it can cost you not only your time but your money also. A sad but true fact is that most sellers including many powersellers will lose money in their business because they never took the time to learn how to start selling on eBay.
You will hear many say that you can't make any money on eBay but most of those are the ones who did it all wrong and unfortunately they have others believing that it's true.
I will share with you a couple of the many things that I do that will help you learn how to make money selling on eBay.
The very first thing you must do is market research. This is the main reason most sellers fail. They start selling on eBay before they even know what the buyers want. Now you may have heard this before maybe from an ebook you purchased or maybe you read it online.
Some so called experts will tell you that if you want to make money on eBay, start with something your passionate about, and all I can say to that is that if you start selling on eBay like that, more than likely you will fail.
People don't care what you like. It's very simple, find out what they want and give it to them.
One of the features that eBay has is that you can relist an item that didn't sell and if it sells the 2nd time, you wouldn't get charged a listing fee. So many sellers ignore this and thats one of the ways that can cost you your business.
Another great tip that works for me and that I suggest you follow is when you start selling on eBay, find out who your competition is and if they are getting a lot more traffic than you are find out what they are doing differently than you.
Try to improve your listing where you think it needs some editing, or maybe a better photo, maybe a different category, if your selling the same item see how much they are selling it for or how much their charging for shipping.
There are a number of things that can cause your traffic to your listing to be low but once you make some improvements, watch as you will notice your hit counter begin to get more traffic. Now that doesn't mean that your done. you'll need to spy on your competition at leat twice a week to see if they are doing anything new or if any new competitors have arrived.
These are just little things that you need to do when starting an eBay business. It may seem a little boring to you at first but trust me, once you see how it will increase your traffic and sales you'll start to have fun doing it because your now starting to make money on eBay.
