The California Speedway is located in beautiful Southern California with miles of beaches, world famous attractions and sporting events for all fans. The Speedway facilities include the Fan Zone, that provides fans with excellent dining at the Apex by Wolfgang Puck, live entertainment and leisure areas. Admission to the Fan Zone is included, with race ticket purchase. The Speedway Town Center is the hub of activity with various vendors selling souvenirs and sponsor displays and exhibits.
The Speedway hosts a wide range of events each season including the NASCAR Cup Series, Craftsman Truck, US Motorcycle Racing, Suzuki Superbike, the Historic Cars Festival and much more. Several car clubs, such as the Porsche Owners Club and the California Sports Car Club, hold regular events at the Speedway. Admission varies by event with single day tickets starting at $22.00. There are Super Fan packages available, and each package includes race tickets, pre-race pit passes and free gifts.
In addition to its many racing events, the Speedway gives fans the ultimate thrill: climbing behind the wheel and starting their engine! The Speedway is home to seven driving schools that offer training on NASCAR, Stock cars, Karts and Motorcycles. They give safety tips, driver education, and then give you the opportunity to take a turn around the track yourself. The ultimate dream of every race fan can be a reality.
During racing events, the California Speedway is your home away from home with camping sites available in the backyard. They offer a package that includes 1 RV parking site, 2 reserved grandstand tickets for Saturday and Sunday events, portable showers and shuttle service for $410.00. The El Monte RV Park offers infield camping sites with a variety of packages customized for each event.
The Auto Club of California is also housed at the Speedway facility, and was the 2005 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Track of the Year. Drivers consider the new track one of the smoothest and fastest in use. Events at the drag strip include JR Dragster, Street Legal Drag, Pacific Street Car, MHRA Summit Series and Funny Cars, to name a few. Ticket prices depend on the event, but general admission starts at $10 for many of the events.
If itâ€™s fast, itâ€™s probably found at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum located in Pomona. The museum is a testimony of the impact motorsports has had on our culture. Their collections include vintage cars, trophies, helmets, driving uniforms, paintings, artifacts and much more. Their collections represent affection for the influence racing has had on fans around the world. Admission is free for NHRA members and $6.00 for non-members.
