There have been reports out there that the NY Yankee fans were heckling Cliff Lee's wife during the Rangers/Yankees series. Doesn't this take being a fan a little bit too far? What did she have to do with the game being played on the field?

This makes no sense at all. It was not Cliff Lee's choice to be dealt to the Rangers in the first place. It certainly wasn't the choice of his wife to be dealt there instead of to Texas. This is really not the way to go about showing frustrations by taunting and berating the other starting pitcher's family.
There are reports that she actually had beer thrown at her. If this is the case, that person or persons should have been pointed out and immediately arrested. The word fan is short for fanatic and that is exactly what that behavior is. There is no place for that type of behavior in sporting arenas.
Besides, what are the NY fans going to do next year if and when Cliff Lee signs with the Yankees. Are you going to boo his wife and taunt and throw beer at here then?
People please, it is time to grow up and stop acting like spoiled brats at sporting events. There is no place for this sort of thing at games. It really stops being a game when the people around you are being so rude that you are afraid to take your children there to have fun.
