The Sioux Nation Fights Back Against the Marauding White Folks - The Battle Unfolds

by Lance Winslow

Would you like to read more Western Books, but are worried that you might pick one up that turns into a boring endeavor, believe me I know how you feel, I've used more than one Western Paperback to fire up the BBQ for steaks. Let me recommend a good one to you!

"Among the Eagles; A Delamer Western" by G. Clifton Wisler; Fawcett Gold Medal Publishing (part of Ballantine Books), New York, NY; 1989

G. Clifton Wisler has also written several other excellent Western Books, some of the best I have ever had the pleasure of reading, unfortunately, I have not had a chance to read them all yet, but let me give you just a few of the great titles, a few you might even recognize:
Starr's Showdown The Trident Brand Purgatory Abrego Canyon The Wayward Trail South Pass Ambush Sweetwater Flats My Brother, The Wind Thunder on the Tennessee

This book lives up to its promise on the cover when it describes the riveting story, and the perspective sets the record straight, it is an excellent tale and story:

Against marauding whites, the Sioux Nation faces long odds, but they've got Willie Delamer to even the score"

A score indeed, one, with revenge, intrigue and a twist of events that only G. Clifton Wisler could write, and thus, we have one of the greatest Westerns written in the late 1980s. I'd recommend this book to any reader of Western Fiction. The history is well done and well researched, he is right on the money with his historical fiction in his stories and novels, this book is no exception, it is brilliantly done.
