In 1954, Amtrol designed its first Extrol expansion tank, and thereby redefined hydraulic heating systems. Ever since its inception five decades ago, Amtrol's pre-pressurized, diaphragm design for its range of Extrol expansion tanks, Extrol has become a world leader of expansion tanks. Used in closed systems that re-circulate the same fluid over and over again, Extrol expansion tanks are the most used tanks for radiant and hydraulic heating, as well as, water heating used in open and closed loop hydraulic / radiant systems. Consisting of a closed system for long lasting efficiency and life term, Extrol expansion tanks are designed for controlling system pressure and reducing energy consumption in heating and refrigeration operations.
