It is truly devastating to know that either you or a person close to your heart has breast cancer. Both the physical and emotional pain can be unbearable for someone who has the disease. Now, you don't have to undergo such turmoil in your life that is why you have to be constantly aware of the things that you can do to reduce the risk for breast cancer.
Alcohol is one of the culprits that can increase your risk for breast cancer. If you are a heavy drinker, it would be advisable for you to slow down as alcohol is not just a risk factor for cancer but for other diseases as well. Reduce your risk for breast cancer by 10 percent just by cutting back on this habit.
The amount of your bodily fat is also a good indicator of breast cancer risk. Hormones that can cause cancer actually bury themselves in fats that is why it is so important to be in good physical shape all the time. To prevent fat buildup, eliminate fatty foods from your diet. Get rid of bad habits that promote weight gain as well such as smoking and drinking.
Aside from that, engage in more physical activities as well. Exercise is known to reduce the risk of breast cancer. How exercise does that exactly, nobody knows. A good explanation may be that exercise helps boost up the immune system, making it less susceptible to the attack of cancer cells.
Choose the kind of food you include in your diet wisely. According to studies, high dietary fiber can cut the risk of breast cancer among pre-menopausal women by up to fifty percent. Consume at least 30 grams of fiber each day from your choice of fruits or vegetables to reduce breast cancer risk.
You have to listen to the needs of your body if you want it to be free not only from breast cancer but also from other deadly diseases that are common to women. Choose to live a healthy lifestyle instead of a carefree one if you want to get the most out of this life.
