With the Christmas season quickly approaching, you may be thinking about how to design your scrapbook pages. With so many choices, it can feel a bit overwhelming, especially if your time is limited. However, by developing a theme and sticking to it, your scrapbook pages will come together easily. Here are a few Christmas scrapbooking tips to get you started:
1. Make a scrapbook album which chronicles getting ready for Christmas. This can include all the yearly traditions you do including setting up and decorating the tree, any Christmas parties you attend, special Christmas events, shopping trips, opening presents, etc. Make sure your camera is always on hand so you don’t miss any of those memorable events.
2. Focus on the children. Design an album around a visit with Santa Clause, cookie baking, gift making, or a Christmas pageant. Be sure to include tracings of hands and footprints. This is a great way to document the children’s growth over years past. Do this every year and you’ll have a wonderful keepsake memory. Also keep any handwritten wish lists or notes to Santa.
3. Make a trip journal of any long distance trips or visits to relatives. Be sure to keep maps and souvenirs to include in the scrapbook pages. Create pages around any special winter scenes or places that you visited.
4. Choose a color theme for inspiration. You may wish to choose traditional reds and greens, or opt for something more whimsical such as gingerbread or snowmen. Keep the same theme throughout your Christmas scrapbook to make your pages unified.
