It is a fact that the number of all kinds of crimes within our Country is increasing far beyond acceptable levels. There is also a shortage of law enforcement people within nearly every part of our once great Nation. Something is clearly wrong somewhere and there is no quick or easy solution to this very serious problem within our society.
The worst kinds of crimes are those that cause direct physical, mental and/or financial injury to the victims. Then too, the other members of the victim's family or friends might also indirectly be injured by those criminals. I wonder, is it also a crime that our elected politicians are doing almost nothing to lower the crime rate within our Country?
Believe it or not, the laws are in place to prevent and solve the many different crimes that occur within every town, city and state from coast to coast. There are tens of thousands of lawyers, judges and police people who are constantly working for the good of the majority, but our legal system is strained beyond the breaking point.
Yes, it is impossible to stop all criminal behavior, but it is possible to reduce the number of the tens of thousands of crimes that happen each year to honest and also dishonest people. The real solution is to reduce the causes for criminal behavior.
As hard as that might be to believe, it can be accomplished by the elected members of our Government. If you forgot, they are supposed to work for the majority of we people.
Like it or not, legislation is required in order to reduce the causes of so much crime within our Country. The following is my list of causes and some real World solutions to these very serious crimes that have caused so much death, grief and suffering to the citizens of our once great Nation.
People need honest employment and a living wage in order to stay healthy and alive. Recently, I saw a news item in regard to the huge growth of earnings of multinational corporations, but that does nothing for the majority of our people because those corporations' growth is due mainly to the fact that our workers were replaced with foreign labor.
Millions of jobs and the factories where those people worked are gone forever. Then again, laws can be created to hire our own people to make the products that all of those multinational corporations want to sell to us for prices that are more than an honest business person would ask for the finished product. Is it fair to charge a 300% or more markup of the cost of the product? Ask that question to an oil company executive.
Our borders do not protect us from any kind of terrorists or criminals. Most of them can simply walk into our Country and never be found. There are an estimated 12-20 million aliens within our Country and more are coming each day as the crime rate continues to rise. Those people must be found and removed from our society, or they must be investigated in order to determine if they are earning an honest living within our society.
Tens of thousands of our people are addicted to deadly and/or illegal drugs. Hundreds of violent gangs are distributing and selling those drugs to any person who has money, and in some cases, to children who get it for nothing. You see, they will be the future customers of those criminals. That is, if the dope doesn't first kill those children. Without a doubt, the importation of deadly, addictive and illegal drugs must stop. You see, dope addicts usually are unemployed, and get their money by taking it from banks, businesses and honest citizens.
Without a doubt, the elected members of the Federal Government can pass laws to resolve and stop most of the crimes being committed. So too, law enforcement, together with the legal system in place, can and should be more aggressive in its quest for criminals.
Inflation is the cruelest criminal of all. It hurts me to see and hear about the growing number of homeless people within our society. In our, so called, modern society, every person should have a place to live and food to eat. They should also have the opportunity to seek and get honest employment from wherever that employment is available. Then again, those who are mentally disturbed require treatment, not just simply left on the street to eventually die or become a victim of yet another criminal.
