Did Jesus say: Peace be unto you or Assalaamu alaykum?

Did Jesus say to them: "Peace be unto you"

Or, did He use the Islamic form of Greeting: "Assalaamu alaykum?

In this article, 21 different versions of the Bible (19 English and two Arabic) were studied to see how they translate a fraction of the verse Matthew 28:9.

All the studied versions agree in saying "Jesus met them"

But they disagree about what did Jesus say?

Jesus said:

Greetings                        six versions Hail                                  three versions All Hail                            three versions Good morning                two versions Peace be unto you         two versions Rejoice                            one version

Jesus did not say anything; He met them and greeted them in four versions

The four versions which revealed that Jesus did not say anything,

New American Standard Bible Contemporary English Version GOD'S WORD Translation New Living Translation

These four versions say: Jesus met them and greeted them; but they do not say what He said to them exactly.

The 15 versions which revealed that Jesus said something to them,

New International Version "Greetings," he said. English Standard Version and said, "Greetings!" New Century Version and said, "Greetings." New International Version, UK   Greetings, he said. Today's New International Version "Greetings," he said. New International Version 1984 "Greetings," he said.

Young's Literal Translation   saying, `Hail!' Darby Translation (DARBY) saying, Hail! Amplified Bible and said, Hail (greetings)!

King James Version    saying, All hail 21st Century King James Version saying, "All hail" American Standard Version saying, All hail.

The Message "Good morning!" he said. Holman Christian Standard Bible and said, "Good morning!"

Enjeel.com and said: "Peace be unto you" Arabic Bible and said: "Peace be unto you"

New King James Version saying, "Rejoice!"

The two Arabic versions of the Bible which claim that Jesus said: "Peace be unto you" are from these two web sites:

St-Takla.org and

Enjeel.com

Of course, only one translation of what Jesus said is correct and the other translations are wrong. But who knows what Jesus said to them exactly?

The interesting question is that what if the Arabic version of the Bible is the correct one?

In this case, the Lord Jesus used the Islamic form of greetings; that is "Peace be unto you" which is pronounced as "Assalaamu alaykum" in Arabic. Remember that Jesus spoke Aramaic language that is very close to Arabic.

If Jesus said to them: "Peace be unto you" [which I guess], then He definitely used the Islamic form of greetings; that is "Assalaamu alaykum"

If you are interested to know why I guess, read the coming up article.
