Storage - How To Use and Improve Storage Capabilities by Ankurs Lekhi

Well this is the basic thing in the computer, if your storage device, i.e. you hard disc is not a good one then, you can’t make the things going in a smooth and easy way. Now let’s talk about the normal storage device or the computer’s hard disc.

The hard disc compromises of black magnetic disc which is responsible for storing the data of your computer, I don’t want to go in more technicalities, however wants to tell you that this is the device which is responsible for each and everything which is related to storage.

Normally people purchased the hard drives or the hard disc according to their necessities. However many times they forget about the configuration of the computer system. I prepared a small chart that helps the user to choose the hard drives according to the RAM they have. I gave a bit of personal experience and some part of knowledge is also present while preparing the chart.

RAM (MB) Hard Drive (GB)

64 20

128 40

256 40-80

512 80-120

1000 160 More

This chart we cannot say a complete one as the way you go on increasing you need to take care of RAM and moreover the biggest thing is your processor.

Now, the question arises that if doesn’t have the desired RAM or No ports left for putting up the RAM onto the motherboard. (For an instance you have 2GB of RAM and hard drive of more than 320 GB and you want to increase more). In that scenario what I will refer to external hard drive or attached a one Laptop Small Hard-drive, which should be compatible of USB.

Various brands of hard disc are Seagate (I prefer), Samsung and they are many more in the market however Seagate is good one as their product life is better than many others and moreover you can trust them, that they are selling an ultimate product to you.

Now how to configure external hard drive or how to make the laptop hard drives a pocket USB External Device I will let you know in the next coming article.
