There are a certain amount of dating ideas that are great either planned when you are in a long term or committed type relationship or as a change of plans, last minute, because we lucked up on it type of first and transitional dates.

One of the best examples of this is finding a berry patch and then picking and eating the berries (assuming that they are wild or the owners have given the okay). During the beginning phases it's something that you might want to keep in the back of your mind and be on the lookout for mainly because it's active and at the same time berries no matter when they are eaten have a "sensual appeal" to them.
 
At the same time, it isn't good as a planned first date for those exact reasons as well. However, if you were to take her for a stroll in a park or National Forrest that you happen to have walked in before and know that there is a wild batch of berries growing, nothing is preventing you from leading her there during your stroll.
 
Once you get more comfortable and committed in the relationship feel free to take a more active role in finding out where there might be some wild patches growing or even when it is nearing the end of the picking season where there are some local berry fields as they usually will allow you to pick all you want for a price although sometimes they let you do it for free once they are through for the season.

In the end, picking berries is a great date idea in the beginning when it happens to go along with something else that you are already doing and in more committed type relationships it is great anytime you can see that it is going on.
