How to use Mini Courses to Promote Your Products Part II by Mark Fortimer

After you have broken your course into parts, if you are short of material then pad it out with some creative writing, but keep it all interesting. The objective is to get the reader to click on the link you provide to your sales page. Don’t let the reader get bored and close your email before doing that, but also don’t make your offer immediately or they will, rightly, think that your course is just a sales job.

Your link should be introduced in a way that suggests that the reader will benefit from reading the book, or buying the product. The link itself should be a text link and should ideally be the name of your product, if that is appropriate. If not, it should be some form of relevant anchor text. Not just ‘Click Here’.

You then have to set the mini course up in your autoresponder. Set it up for one part to be emailed every two days after registration, the first part being sent at day 0. The second will be emailed at day 2, and so on. In that way your product will be continually exposed as more and more people register for your course. Once the course is finished, you could offer the option of registering for a second course if you are able to provide one.

Doing that not only keeps people being exposed to your product, but also lets you know who are really interested in your niche even if they don’t make a purchase. The way that is done is to ask them to re-register for the new course, and send them to a new list. The autoresponder can be set to move their details from one list to the other when they re-register. Anybody making a purchase will be sent to a ‘customer’ list, thus preventing you from continually trying to sell them a product they have purchased.
