A lift chair, sometimes called a lift recliner, are designed to look like mundane recliners but function to aid people, mostly seniors, that suffer from arthritis and other illness that makes transition between sitting and standing difficult. Since its first design released during the 1980s, the use of lift chairs have aided senior citizens to make the transition between sitting and standing safe, secure and comfortable.
Design and functionality have been furthered by creating specific standing or sitting aids through the use of electric motors placed in the base of the lift recliner that allows the entire chair to slowly rise up when triggered making the person seated on the chair comfortable, tilted in an angle that is safe, secure and comfortable. Modern lift chairs, using single hand controls, have been equipped with a constant pressure switch wherein the chair will rise only when there is a long press of the button. It has been improved to ensure safety with usage while providing efficiency. But even with the best care and proper usage, lift recliners are subject to deterioration that require maintenance and repair.
Popular brands like Golden technologies, a family-owned company, and Pride Lift Chairs, provide their consumers with one year warranties along the original purchase. In case anything goes wrong with the recliner and the warranty covers it, all the person has to do is call the companies' hotline, provide the information needed by the support and schedule a service representative to come to your place to repair the chair.
If the damage occurs beyond the warranty, the consumer could still call the company but the consumer has to pay for both the service provided and the parts used for the repair. Both companies have also been known to sell parts for people who prefer repairing their recliners with technical support available when requested.
