Lose Weight Fast With Kettlebells by Jason Casey

Everybody wants to lose weight fast, but fast is a relative term. How fast you lose weight will have a lot to do with how long you have been exercising regularly, and how much weight you need to lose. There are two major factors that control whether you lose weight fast, or lose it slowly.

The first element is your diet. There is no secret here. You have to eat less than you burn in order to lose weight, even moreso if you want to lose weight fast. However, you can't just stop eating like some may be tempted to do. If you cut calories too much too fast, your body can behave like it's starving, and hang onto the fat you're trying to lose.

Start by cutting out junk foods such as sodas, chips, sweets, candy, etc. It's difficult to drop these if you currently eat a lot of them, but it will become easier. The more you replace junk with healthy foods, the more satisfied you will be.

Make sure you drink plenty of water. Many people are dehydrated, and don't realize it. When your body doesn't have sufficient hydration, it doesn't have what it needs to flush out your system. This is essential to losing weight, so drink plenty of water. In addition, drinking water can help curb your appetite.

The second element for helping you lose weight fast is exercise. That's it - diet and exercise - the classic weight-loss combination. No shortcut pills or powders, just honest effort and discipline.

One of the most effective tools for weight loss is the Russian Kettlebell. If you haven't seen one, it looks like a cannonball with a handle. The design lends itself to several extremely effective exercises that can not be easily duplicated on other pieces of equipment - not even dumbbells.

In the arsenal of drills is a very effective and efficient exercise called the kettlebell swing. The principle is simple: swing the kettlebell between your legs and back up to waist or chest height, keeping the arms straight and using momentum from the hamstrings, hips, and glutes to drive it along its path. It's a simple drill, but there are too many minor details to explain here.

Suffice it to say, the swing alone is enough exercise to burn all the fat you want, and quickly when coupled with a smart diet. However, there are several other kettlebell drills available that can give you whatever results you seek.

Since it is a weight, you gain the advantage of toning, even building your muscles as you work out - an advantage you don't get from walking or jogging. In addition, the kettlebell swing is a no-impact exercise, so it's easier on the joints. The swing has also been known to improve lower back pain. Of course, check with your doctor before starting.

So you can see that to lose weight fast, you don't have to spend hours in a gym, or on a boring treadmill or exercise bike. You don't have to have a dietician tell you what to eat. You don't have to spend $60 a month on pills. A simple diet without junk food and plenty of water, along with the simple kettlebell swing will put you well on your way.
