How to Clean an Oak TV Unit

Cleaning an Oak TV Unit can be notoriously difficult. They shape and size mean than can often be cumbersome and time consuming to clean. Corner TV Units by their definition feature a number of corners and edges which make them challenging to clean however good they look.

The most effective method is to simply move the unit away from the corner completely, removing the television, DVD players and cables etc providing you with plenty of space to ensure you clean every angle of the TV Unit. This will enable you to ensure that their is not a build of dust which can enter the fan and disc tray a DVD players which maybe discreetly placed below the main shelf.

Oak furniture is defined by its natural colour tones and characteriscs of the grain - the elements which oak such an excellent material to construct a corner TV unit from.

To also keep oak wood looking beautiful and pristine it is important that you keep your room temperature a moderate moisture level. This will prevent the infection of molds and ensure it is not a suitable climate for insects and termites which can burrow their way into Oak furniture, therefore it is not ideal for an Oak TV Unit to be used within a greenhouse environment unless your not looking to maintain the value of the item of furniture.

When cleaning the an oak corner unit you need to ensure you only use approved dusting agents. Using a high quality non-silicone or non-wax agent is recommended. This will not only remove dust but will also remove grease smudges and fingerprints also. The cloth you use should be of the micro-fiber type.

For oak units which also contain glass it is advisable to use streak free glass cleaning agents. These cleaning agents can be used on mirrors. Be sure to keep the glass cleaning agent away from the wood as this may cause damage. Use only non-abrasive towels or cloth to clean the glass.

In summary to clean an Oak corner unit effectively it is important to fully remove it from the corner enabling you to fully remove an traces of dust. You should also use a high quality non-silicone cleaning agent. You should also keep your oak furniture in a dry climate.
