Just back from the RKC in Philadelphia at 1 am Monday morning

Just back from the RKC in Philadelphia at 1 am Monday morning. It's hard to believe that it is Friday morning and are preparing for the workshop Pavel / Dan John. "acne treatments"

I know it's a little late, but a big hearty "Congratulations!" RKCs all newly formed and a shout out to my team - Good work!

I love the weekends CKR. The main reason, in addition to meeting with close friends, is that I can get to see the transformation of people from users to users mediocre kettlebell kettlebell experts and trainers of high quality. RKC candidates literally become different people in front of our eyes.

That got me thinking - Why do these people succeed?

Here's what I think.

1. Challenge themselves.
2. Are open to learning.
3. They are not afraid to fail.
4. If they fail, they see it as part of the success.
5. Do not quit. Never.

Let's take a closer look at each.

1. Challenge themselves.

They say if you're not growing, you're dying. RKC candidates all wanted to be better at least in the use of kettlebells. At best, they are expanding their capabilities. Does not stand still. When you sit still, their world shrinks. You become less of an asset to himself and his world, or sphere of influence. "teeth whitening"

2. Are open to learning.

Many of us, ready to our way. We close our minds and intellectual growth and physical double. This weekend, I can become a student of physical play again. Pavel I go to the workshop / Dan John in Philadelphia. And I'm eager to learn new ideas and concepts in a workshop setting. It's been a couple of years since I've been a student. I am very aware that I do not know everything, but it's me or double me.

And not prevent the RKC candidates this past weekend. Were presented and wanted to be better. Whether to approve each individual took home something new to him or her - something new about how your body moving (or not) and how best to use a kettlebell in many different situations.

3. They are not afraid to fail.

This is great for getting outside your comfort zone. Can not be afraid to mess up. It is part of the learning process. You have to know what you're doing wrong to do what is "correct." The fact you fail, does not mean they are a failure. Yes, it was probably the normal failure rate of 30% in the RKC this weekend. This course is hard, demanding. But these people are not "failures." Each learned something new and have the opportunity to earn even CKR status.

4. If they fail, they see it as part of the success.

This is the easiest way to get outside your comfort zone and succeed. Yes, we need a radical change in mindset for some of us, but as long as you get there, you're fine. Once again, failure is necessary for success. If not in the previous point, you have to know what is "bad" as part of knowing what is "right."

Thomas Edison was asked how he felt in his absence in the manufacture of a light bulb 1000 times. His response was something along the lines of "I now know 1000 ways not to make a light bulb." It was all part of their mentality.

5. Do not quit. Never.

Ok, here's a personal story. I'm not getting any younger. I'll be 38 later this year. I'm in love with the sport's Olympic weightlifting. It's just unbelievable to me. The speed, strength and pure athletic ability displayed in this sport is phenomenal. I've been looking for success in this sport since 1995. I tried small victories, but even more. I've spent the last 8 years rehabilitating injuries. This year has been a big one - I'm the lesions progress fast and free decisions.

Now certainly do not share any of that with you to brag, but to share with you a long process if you are facing a lot of setbacks. Going back to Thomas Edison: After his workshop burned down, was asked by a reporter what he would do so. His response was: "Rebuild of course!"

Best of the RKC weekend is to see a lot of fatigue pain, candidates who go forward and succeed. And usually a long term process. Many candidates train between six months and one year to complete the RKC.

What's stopping you?

Take a good look around your situation. Things can not go well for you. Things are not optimal. Circumstances, it seems, seldom align to a "perfect time."

Aim for what you really want to do. You will feel uncomfortable. And you may not. But who knows, could be the next Edison - the inventor of the lightbulb is.
