The best way to keep your body healthy while you work on its physical fitness is to eat well because this is the best way of ensuring that you get all of the vitamins and nutrients you need. Eating properly gives you a lot more energy for things like working out and increasing your physical fitness. Work your entire body. Do not listen to anybody who says that you should only work the parts of your body that you want to look prettier. To be successful you will need to put together a routine that will work your whole body and all of its systems. You'll need to make sure to do cardio workouts, endurance training and strength training. If you really want your body to be healthy you need to work out all of your muscles. When you only work out a couple of areas of your body those areas will just get "beefier" which makes them look larger than they did when you began working out.

Remember that muscle weighs more than fat. You need to remember this fact especially if your primary goal is weight loss.

When you work out and eat a balanced diet you will probably shed inches but you might not shed many pounds. This happens because while you work to increase your strength you also work to decrease the size of your fat cells. Watch your measurements closely as you work out and increase your fitness. You might find that the size of your clothing is shrinking while the numbers on the scale don't change much at all. Keeping this in front of your mind will help ward off disappointment about your lack of weight loss as you work on getting in shape.

Take part in an athletic activity that you like. Dance classes provide you with a great way to burn calories work your muscles and have fun. Water aerobics classes are also fun. Hiking and rock climbing are also good. These are all exercise activities that help you get fit while also allowing you to have a lot of fun. If you have fun with your workout routine you will have more success with it. If you do not like your exercise routine you will probably find a lot of reasons to stop doing it. How productive can that be? Who says that getting fit can't be fun? Just about every person on earth wants to be fitter. We all wish we were stronger or had more endurance. We all wish that we felt better. The problem is that not very many of us know how to make the changes we need to accomplish this. Don't let yourself get intimidated. Everyone has to start somewhere! There are people all over the country (and the world) who feel the same things you do. The most important thing right now is that you know what you have to do. You only have to take the first step.
