Tap That Stress Away!

Can you literally use your fingers to stimulate your upper body and get rid of stress? Well, that is what we do with EFT, short for Emotional Freedom Techniques. We stimulate the upper body with the fingers whilst connecting to whatever is stressing us, and usually, the stress then goes away and we wonder what all the fuss was about.
When we go through a trauma, even when we logically "get over it", it is somehow stored in the body. This, in energy healing terms is called an energy disruption. It could be little traumas, such as losing your phone and having to get a new one, or big traumas, such as extremes of child abuse. It could be everyday stress that we just take for granted as part of life, such as a tight deadline, a boss or colleague that lets you down, a misunderstanding with a friend. We go through so much stress every day. And stress helps us take action. But after we have done everything we could to remedy the situation or survive the situation, we are usually left with a residual imprint, and energy disruption, in energy healing terms.
There is a great deal of research that points to stimulation of the upper body whilst thinking of the stress as an excellent way to let go of that stress.
EFT has been proven to reduce the stress hormone cortisol by about 24%. Now that is a real scientific experiment, not hocus pocus or airy fairy stuff! This was published in a real peer-reviewed journal. If you want to read more, here is the information:

In layman's terms, I like this explanation metaphor. The thinking about the stressor in our life brings up the rubbish we want to get rid of to the surface for easy disposal. The EFT tapping is like the throwing away of this rubbish of garbage. Why keep rubbish when we can just throw it away?
Think of another metaphor. We all use mobile phones these days. There is no physical connection that we can actually see or touch, between us and the person on the other end of the phone call. But it works. We get connected. We speak to that person. And we do not say, well, you know what, I'm not going to make that call, because surely this mobile (cellular) phone thing is all a load of old baloney. We just trust that the call will go through and do not question it.
So now, how about tapping that stress away?!
