If you have read any of the recent studies about the contents in our drinking water you are probably alarmed at what is considered safe by government standards. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) works to protect us and they have set what are considered to be ‘Drinking Water Standards’, which means, these standards should be adhered to by all municipal water companies.
Sadly, there are many things in our water that can be considered less than desirable. One of those of is arsenic. According to information on the US Environmental Protection Agency’s website, the following is true:
EPA is now implementing a 10 parts per billion standard for arsenic in drinking water. It has been estimated that approximately 20% of human exposure to lead is attributable to lead in drinking water. Radon, as you may know, is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that may cause cancer. Unfortunately, radon may be found in our indoor air as well as in our drinking water.
The fact is that although our drinking water has the appearance of being clear and clean, it definitely contains some substances that most of us would prefer to avoid. The good news is that there are miraculous house water filter systems available that can filter out the impurities and harmful substances, while allowing beneficial minerals to get through.
