Internet Marketing Tips - Getting Testimonials by Steven Wagenheim

If you're planning on selling products online, it is imperative that you get testimonials. If you don't know the reason why this is so important, this article is going to explain why and also show you some simple ways to get testimonials without having to sell your first born in the process. Hopefully, after reading this, you'll have no trouble in getting testimonials for your next product.

Okay, so why are testimonials so important? Well, like it or not, we live in an age where people are very skeptical about anything that they buy, online or offline. The reason for this is because, quite unfortunately, there have been a number of cons and con men who have come and gone over the course of marketing history and more than enough people have been terribly burned by them. This cons ranged from real estate to wrinkle removers. Nobody was safe. As a result, consumer protection has become an obsession. I can't say I blame anybody. As a result, in order to get your product sold, you need a lot of credibility these days. The problem, however, is kind of a catch 22. How can you get credibility without selling your product first to find out if people like it and how can you sell your product without credibility? It's a real pickle. Well, I have a way out of this pickle and it's very easy.

Some people don't like doing this, but it is the best way to get testimonials for a product that you haven't sold yet. Simply give it away. Now, I'm not talking about giving it away to the whole world or even a large number of people. You can easily sell a product with no more than five to ten testimonials. Naturally, the more you have the better. But even with so few, you've built some credibility.

The way you go about this is simple. The most effective way is to go to a forum in the niche your product is targeting, tell people about it and ask if you can have a handful of people try it out. Don't ask for testimonials. Simply tell them that if they like the product, you'd love to have them say a few words about it. But don't make it mandatory. Testimonials have to be unsolicited if they're to have any meaning.

The above method is very effective for getting testimonials. Not only that, but it's very fast too. You can easily have all your testimonials within a day or two, depending on how long it takes for your product to be tested.

Testimonials are one of the major factors needed to sell products online. So do everything you can to get them. It's really that simple.
