Here are several things that I wish someone would have told me when I got started with internet marketing.
I think the opportunity today is much better than it was 5 years ago when I started.
The problem is that there is a lot more “stuff” out there as well.
Here are a few of the things that I have learned over the years that hopefully will save you some headaches.
I think the first and foremost is that you want to have a lead generation machine. All new businesses need both customers and clients. If you are selling a product you need customers, and if you are trying to recruit others, you will need new prospects.
One of the things that I teach new people is to build a lead generation machine that is separate from your MLM, or your affiliate business.
This way, you can create your own list, hopefully monetize that list, and then you can promote your primary opportunity.
The Power is in the List, and if you create that list yourself, it will be a much more responsive list.
The 2nd thing that I like to teach my new people is to not promote a “Company” website, but to learn how to create their own “splash” page to promote.
There are so many company replicated websites out there that people can’t distinguish you from the company. Also the company webpages are usually not designed to “capture” the visitors' information.
You need to learn how to market “YOU” first and then your company or opportunity.
The 3rd thing would be to become familiar with traffic exchanges. These can be a great way to “get your feet wet” with getting some exposure out there.
The trick especially when you are new is to not get distracted by other offers. You are there to get exposure for your website, not to run off into the internet “oblivion”
