They say the money is in the list, and that's absolutely true. We'll show you ways to start building that list.
1) Co-registration
Have you ever signed up to a newsletter or free e-mail account and at the end of your registration there was a page full of offers with check boxes? That's what we call a co-registration sign-up page. You can either partner up with other websites and share co-registration leads or purchase co-registration leads directly from sites that offer them. List brokers also sell co-registration leads but I'd be careful using this avenue as you can get burned.
2) Write articles
Article writing is a highly effective way of building a list. Always remember to place a link to your website inside of your resource box at the end of the article. Make sure that the link goes to a landing page that collects information from your user such as name and e-mail address.
3) Sign up form on every page
If you choose to send traffic directly to your website pages and not specifically to a landing page I recommend putting a sign-up form on every page of your website. It's highly advisable to do that anyways even if you are using a landing page. This highly increases your chances of getting contacts for your list.
4) Joint ventures
Once you get a good size was going, find other people in your market that want to partner up with you. Don't partner up with people that are in direct competition with you, but do make sure that both of your products and services are related. What's going to happen is that they're going to mail to their lists on your behalf. They'll recommend you and your products and services and offer a link to your website to learn more about you or to receive a free offer or information. Make sure you capture the contact information once they get to your website and then you can mail to them whenever you want.
