I couldn't believe how quickly I was losing customers. When a competition store opening up across the street, I saw my business shrinking massively. The problem was that the customer loss was not immediate. At first I didn't even notice that anything was happening. By the time that I had caught on, things were already in bad shape. I started pulling out all the stops in order to try to reverse the trend.

As a business manager, the first thing that I did was to lower my prices. I figured this was the obvious thing to do. I figured that most of the customer loss had to do with my higher prices. This started to help a little bit, but it was nothing like when I brought the scent machines in.

These scent systems are able to produce particular scents throughout your store. Their purpose is to be used as part of a scent marketing strategy. Basically, if I am producing particular scents throughout the store, then the customers are more likely to come pay a visit. I thought that the idea sounded ridiculous when I first heard it, but I gave it a shot since I had nothing to lose. It turns out that the different scent systems are able to create an emotional connection with the customers. They don't even realize that it is happening, but it is bringing in business like you wouldn't believe.

Although I will still have to use other measures to get back to full strength, I believe that this scent strategy has helped out a lot.
