Trace Cell Phone Numbers - Can You Trace Cell Numbers Online? by Carol Bliss

Is it possible to trace cell phone numbers online? The answer might surprise you because actually it's yes and no. There are resources available to you that will allow you to find out who owns any particular number weather be a cell phone, home phone, unlisted number, business phone line, fax machine, or even pager numbers. However, in order to access this type of directory you often need to use an online database that is maintained and updated by a professional service.

There are however ways that you can attempt to ascertain this information on your own. One of the most common ways people use to do a reverse number lookup online is to use search engines such as Google and Yahoo. Basically, what you want to do is simply enter the number in any search engine and click enter. If satisfactory results are not returned, you might try putting the number into quotation marks, adding dashes in the appropriate places, or even searching for the number without area code. You're sure to get a healthy helping of results returned to you, but there is a problem with doing it this way. Unfortunately, most of the time you get so many results back that you can literally spend months searching through thousands or even hundreds of thousands of pages that had been indexed by Google. What's worse than that is the fact that often times the information that you get is several years old.

The sure fire way to get the information you're looking for is to utilize the service of a reverse directory. These types of directories were established for the sole purpose of allowing somebody to find out exactly who owns a cell number. Often times, these directories are owned, maintained, as well is updated by a private and professional company who makes it their business to know exactly who owns what number.

These types of directories have helped thousands or more people find out exactly who has been prank calling them, talking to their significant other, or burning through all their cell phone minutes. If you're in the market to do a reverse lookup I would highly recommend taking a look at one of these professional resources.

Being able to find out who owns a particular number is an art form that is usually only possible if you have the right resources at your disposal. Don't spend a ton of time online searching for numbers when the answer can only be one click away.
