Jason Aldean has proven that he is much more than a one-hit wonder, and he is now a household name in the world of country music fans. If he needed proof of his recent success it came on March 18, when the Recording Industry Association of America released its gold and platinum certifications. Aldean's "Big Green Tractor" has reached platinum certification, as did the Zac Brown Band's "Toes" and Carrie Underwood's "Cowboy Casanova." Aldean has revealed in earlier interviews that he didn't foresee "Big Green Tractor" being a hit, but it has become one of his biggest successes nonetheless.
Showing his superstardom, Aldean is set to take part in a concert special called ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn – The Last Rodeo. The legendary country duo Brooks & Dunn are ending their 20-year run as a duo, and the top names in country music are coming together for a tribute concert. The concert will be recorded on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show will then air on CBS on May 23. Aldean is joined by other top stars for the tribute like George Strait, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood and many more.
He will again be a part of a major country music event in June when he takes part in the CMA Music Festival from June 10-13. Aldean will be playing a show at LP Field. Other names that will be playing at LP Field for the CMA Music Festival include Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, the Zac Brown Band, Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker, Lady Antebellum and more. The CMA Festival is always an event that draws droves of country music fans to Nashville, Tenn.
A new chapter is unfolding in Jason Aldean's career, as he is becoming comfortable with his role as a headliner. After hears of opening for other acts, he is now getting top billing on all of his shows. He spoke to the Idaho Statesman about the change and said, "Playing the show it's pretty much the same, but when you're a headliner, you're involved in every aspect. I worked on the set design in November and we've been planning everything since then. You're basically creating a tour from the ground up. When you're a support act, you just show up and play." He will headline dates in cities like Terre Haute, Ind.; Friant, Calif. and Virginia Beach, Va. before joining Brooks & Dunn's farewell tour.
