Country songstress Carrie Underwood could easily be labeled as one of the most likeable people in entertainment, and she is sure to earn more proverbial brownie points with one of her upcoming performances. Miss Underwood (who will be a Mrs. in the near future) is set to take part of a concert to raise money for victims of Nashville's devastating floods. The concert is called "Nashville Rising: A Benefit for Flood Recovery," and it will take place on June 22 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The event is hosted by country power couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Other artists to participate include Miranda Lambert, Miley Cyrus, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, Michael W. Smith and many more.

Before the benefit concert, Underwood will be at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena for another event that draws out country superstars: the 2010 CMT Music Awards. This year's awards show will take place on June 9. Carrie Underwood is up for the top award of the night, which is Video of the Year. Her video for "Cowboy Casanova" will be up against Toby Keith's "American Ride," Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now," Kenny Chesney's "Out Last Night," Keith Urban's "'Til Summer Comes Around," Zac Brown Band's "Toes," Jason Aldean's "The Truth," Brad Paisley's "Welcome to the Future," Miranda Lambert's "White Liar" and Taylor Swift's "You Belong with Me." She is also nominated for Female Video of the Year (for "Cowboy Casanova") and CMT Performance of the Year (for "Temporary Home" from Invitation Only).

On top of caring about those hit by disaster, Underwood also has a place in her heart for the canine population, as well. Pedigree and Underwood have teamed together to bring attention to the importance of dog adoption. Pedigree is one of the sponsors of her tour, and Underwood even created a PSA for animal adoption. Underwood is speaking from experience, as she is the proud pet parent of a dog named Ace, whom she adopted.

Throughout her career, Carrie Underwood has carefully chosen each step. Before being tempted to label her a perfectionist, it is worth taking a look at her comments about wedding planning. Underwood is engaged to hockey star Mike Fisher of the Ottawa Senators. She says that the two aren't all that concerned about the details and are most just looking forward to the day. According to PEOPLE magazine, Underwood said, "I don't care what color napkins are on the table. I don't care. We're just both really laid back. Family, food and fun, that's all we really need. And, oh yeah, get married." She hasn't revealed the date yet, but it will have to be carefully planned considering they both have busy schedules.

Underwood is still riding high on the success of her third album, 2009's Play On. She already topped the charts with the singles "Cowboy Casanova" and "Temporary Home" from that album, and her latest single "Undo It" looks to do the same. Underwood has many concert dates booked around the country throughout the summer, and fans can find Carrie Underwood tickets at StubHub.com.
