Power Food Series - Oatmeal (Part 3) by James Skylark

Good News! Oatmeal is the most convenient energy booster at any time of the day. Besides, it does the following: 1) Increases testosterone in the body

Eating oatmeal increases the levels of free testosterone in the human body which propels the body’s ability to build muscle and sex drive.

2) Makes you fuller with its component of soluble fiber

Oatmeals make a person fuller longer with its component of soluble fiber. Soluble fiber attracts fluid and stays in your stomach longer than insoluble fiber. An example of insoluble fibre will be vegetables. Benfits of soluble fibre include reduces cholesterols levels. My suggestion? Eat more fiber whenever you can and that includes both soluble and insoluble fiber(which attracts water to it).Fiber reduces the risk of heart diseases.

3) Sustains your Blood sugar levels longer than any other food

Oatmeals sustains your blood sugar levels longer than any other food known to man. This keeps your insulin levels steady which makes you less hungry for the next few hours. This is a plus point because oatmeal takes a longer time to digest which makes the insulin levels to decrease which increases your metabolism and tells your body not to store any more fat to make you look like Klutz(which we are trying to avoid anyway).

Your preference of any kind of berry is fine as long as you don’t buy those berries that are heavily coated in sugar or syrup. The sugar content in these processed berries cannot balance the health benefits as what I am going to mention below.

Berries have the ability to enhance your eyesight, improves short term-memory loss and it allows a person to have natural “taste” in his diet without having the temptation to stray.

What I tend to do is to add berries to yogurts, ice cream together with some chopped almonds, it checks my cravings and allow me to have a dessert which I will not feel guilty for the next several hours.

They carry powerful levels of antioxidants, and compounds that help your body internally to defeat heart diseases and cancer cells. In addition, they also fulfill your daily needs of vitamin C.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Yet, several working people had claimed to be “too busy” to eat breakfast and treat it as a luxury. Nevertheless, these people do not know what they are slowing down their metabolism by skipping breakfast. When you slowdown your metabolism rate, you burn less fuel and more muscles away. Talk about a chain reaction!

Strawberries are probably the nation’s favorite source of berries. That is, if they are found in ice cream with high calories and processed jam. Strawberries are wonderful as they contain a valuable form of protein called pectin which triggers the body to register an amount of abundance. This makes a person feel fuller drinking juice with pectin that those people without. The major difference we are all looking for? 4 hours!
