To suffer from candida can be a real discomfort, and if it’s left to grow in your intestines you can become really sick from it; vaginal yeast infections, skin thrush, fatigue, the list is long on symptoms that can make your life difficult.
So how to pursue a candida diet and what should it contain? First of all, you should be prepared, that you have to be on the diet for a couple of months, before you are totally free from the intestinal candida. But you will normally be symptom free after a week or even faster. In the beginning it’s common to experience so called “die off” symptoms, which means that your symptoms will get even worse. This is nothing to worry about and will disappear after two days or so. It simply means that your diet is working and that the body is cleaning the candida out. The diet can seem quite extreme, but there are really a lot you can eat, you just have to set your mind to change things for a while. And from the energy and wellness you gain from it, it’s really worth the effort! Some people claim they have got their life back.
Things you can eat on your candida diet:
Most of the meats, such as
beef
duck
eggs
chicken
Vegetables like:
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Asparagus
Squash
Tomatillo
Tomato
Zucchini
olives
Pure oils and butter
Sour-rye bread that is made with no yeast
Yoghurt and cottage cheese.
These are some of the foods you can eat, and there’s many more, so as you can see it’s quite easy to get by. You should also take some supplements to make the diet work and be effective, such as garlic, a colon cleanse with psyllium seeds, and big amounts of pure vitamin C.
The more important are the things that you shouldn’t eat. All sugars, all flour except in rye sour bread, all artificial flavourings and colorings should be left out totally. This means you have to read the labels on your food rigorously. It may sound difficult, but just do some research and plan everything carefully before you start. Make meal plans week by week. This will make it much easier. See to it that you don’t have such a busy schedule in the beginning, since it’s going to take quite a lot of energy and you might be very tired from the die off- symptoms.
When going to the toilet you will notice when the candida will start to leave your body. Among other things there will be long dry “threads” of feces in the toilet bowl. This is what has been left in your body for years, maybe decades. Imagine how much better you will feel when this has left your body!
Another thing you will notice, is that as you get further in the diet, your skin will be much clearer and look more healthier. This is because candida often takes a toll on the body and the skin as well.
