Word web dictionary defines opportunity as “A possibility due to a favorable combination of circumstances”. It has alot to do with being proactive. When the storms hit the sea and your boat been rocked, fear or worry will only sink you. So controlling a situation by causing something to happen rather than waiting to respond to it after it happens, is the way to go. Earl Nightingale said “Luck is when preparedness meets opportunity.” What is preparedness was he talking about? Your mental and physical readiness to seek and take on the opportunities that awaits you everyday.

How much risk is too much? Well, that I cant answer but I can tell you that If you aim and shot, it is either you hit or miss the target. Either way there is experience to be gained.
