Use of words seperate mankind from animal. The word trip is defined as a journey of relatively short duration, especially to a place and back again, usually for a specific purpose such as a vacation or business meeting. This word also can describe as a state of euphoria after taking illegal narcotics or drinking alcohol. So if i'm high or drunk i began to trip.

To trip also means to stumble or nearly fall down. Have you ever heard some one say that "you are a trip" or "you are tripping"? Most often this person is telling you that you are crazy or you must be on drugs. Most of the time drugs and alcohol are not involved but the behavior or question or request that you made is foolish to the person that you are talking to. So in other words you have made a blunder, error, or mistake if you think i will pay any attention to what you are concerned about or doing.

I talked to a soldier the other day and he said that "they are tripping if they think that i going back to Iraq" Wow I asked " why is that?" His reply was "that place is a trip" Not all expression of the word trip are negative. We can also say that a trip is an intense, emotional, or stimulating experience. These emotions to express a trip can also be just the opposite with emotions that scare hurt or scar a person. If you are interrogated by the police you may trip up your alibi. When our appliances stop working we may have a trip switch to jump start it. A voyage, a tour, a journey - are all trips. To fall or to lose your footing to tumble to skip or jump can all be summed in the word trip. So the next time you gon on an expedition in life, enjoy your trip.
