Superbowl Party Menu Ideas for a Fabulous Football Party

by Gail Leino

The Superbowl by definition leads to massive parties either at home or at a friend’s home. Whether you’re hosting a party or bringing food along to someone else’s, here are a few Superbowl food ideas:

Often you will find chips, dips, vegetable platters, cold cut platters, chicken wings, and anything you can barbeque at a Superbowl party. Most of the food preparation has to be done before the game actually starts, as most of you know once the game starts its time to sit around watching football and drinking beer. Once you’ve prepared the food, it’s a good idea to set out trays and bowls so that guests can eat at their leisure.

After the game you may find the grill fired up and the ribs thrown on. For a great rib recipe you just need your favorite barbeque sauce, whether you make it or buy it. If you are buying the sauce one of the best is Sweet Baby Ray’s Original Barbeque Sauce. It gives a nice smoky flavor without being over powering. Adding garlic, chilli or onion to the sauce to suit your tastes is also an idea. The key to good ribs is making sure they have marinated in sauce for four hours, wrapped in tin foil and then grilled.

A great accompaniment to barbeque ribs is coleslaw. Coleslaw can be made in a few different ways, but mostly you will want shredded lettuce, cabbage, carrot, onion, vinegar and Miracle Whip. Alternatively, you can by the shredded mixture without having to do the work, with a great recipe on the back included.

Many different menus have been created for the Superbowl. The key to a successful party is having great food at your guests’ fingertips throughout the day. That means that they’ll be happy, but you’ll still be able to enjoy the game with them.
