A new sport is on everybody's radars right now. Kiteboarding is an aedrenaline-pumping type of sport. It is like flying a kite, surfing on water and using a wakeboard rolled into one. It has been gaining widespread popularity in the main beach attractions such as France, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. The most awesome thing about kiteboarding is using the different elements such as water and the wind in order to glide your way through water and lift and maneuver your board using your kite. It is akin to wakeboarding, because you are using a board to ski through water, while a boat or rope is pulling you. But this time, the strong winds are pulling you forwards, and hence, the use of a kite in order to catch great winds.

Kiteboarding was first done by a European back in 1977. Ben Pahui was a Dutchman, and was the first to experiment using a kite in order to balance himself on water. In 1996, the first kiteboarding event was conducted in both in Hawaii and France, two countries with one of the world's best beaches. It was only recently that Asian communities are catching up with the kiteboarding experience.

Many sports enthusiasts are hoping to increase the involvement of other athletes in the sport. People who have been engaged in other extreme sports will surely love the added adrenaline rush which kiteboarding can give them. With kiteboarding, one can play with the wind and the water. Because of its speed and because the natural elements are fighting against you, kiteboarding involves all the energy and strength that one can muster in order to get through one round. It allows one to use his skills in balance, motor coordination, and maintain his stamina to be able to do the whole course.

Recently, Guinness Record World Holder Kristin Boese, a kiteboarding and surfing sportswoman, will be holding a KB14 girls tour and has been partnering with numerous sponsors to include kiteboarding in people's radars and to support its cause of increasing awareness for environment protection. So be involved. You can browse through sports magazines and Internet forums for a kiteboarding sale or a used kiteboard. It's about time to get up, burn those fats and experience a more exciting lifestyle, rather than sit in the office playing with your Mac notebook or in your couch watching television. By engaging in sports such as kiteboarding, you can maintain both an active social life and a healthy body.
