A lot of people may believe that there isn't much to decide on when purchasing a vacuum cleaner, they all do the same job generally but there are a number of different designs and varieties now, especially in recent years to choose from with plenty of popular brands to choose from. What many people may not be aware of though is that some vacuum cleaners can have benefits with certain floor types; some perform better with certain floor types than others and so when you need to buy a new vacuum cleaner there are a few key things you'll have to consider.
Upright vacuum cleaners tend to be the most commonly available models these days, the popular Dyson vacuum cleaners are mostly upright models and have become popular not only for being more powerful when it comes to suction but they were also pioneers of the bag less design that saves money on purchasing bags to keep the dust and dirt in. Upright vacuum cleaners typically have a lot more power as the head of a vacuum is a part of the main machine and the dirt doesn't have far to travel.
The main issue people have with upright cleaners is that they are too bulky to use on furniture or on your curtains, this is why there's normally a wand attachment available which can be used on hard to reach areas and other furniture apart from your floors. If you have a lot of carpeted areas in your home then you will want to make sure that you have an upright vacuum as they are able to pull dust and dirt from deep within the pile of your carpet.
The other variety you can buy is a cylinder vacuum cleaner; these tend to be smaller so they don't take up too much space when you aren't using them. A cylinder vacuum cleaner isn't as powerful as an upright vacuum cleaner so they are not as effective on carpets but they are perfect if you have wooden or lino flooring, but in recent years some cylinder vacuums now have turbo heads with brushing mechanisms making them more effective on cleaning carpets to draw the dirt out.
The choice over which type of cleaner to buy is mostly now down to individual preference and with both types now gaining features and developments making them effective in any situation. It is also worthwhile checking the reviews and opinions on particular models to make sure that people who have bought that model are happy with their choice.
