Job Interview Tip - How to Demonstrate What You Know by Vincent Gray

However, before submission or presentation before the board, you must be 100% sure of the sample and should be able to face any sort of question, which might come up. It is always better to take your best work during interview as sample. It would remain in the minds of your interviewers as an icon of your capability. Often interviewers ask the candidates to show some illustration of their outstanding work. You can have an excellent opportunity then to exhibit your professional competence.

Sometimes, it is a good idea to consider leaving your samples behind for the company to look at it later. And since there is very less time during the interview session, you cannot obviously explain each and every aspect of it during that short space. Hence, by leaving the sample with the company, you are keeping your communication channels open for further contact. But, there is a word of caution here. You must leave only such samples which can be created further or with such companies whom you can trust.

You can also adopt another approach to demonstrate your skill sets. Here, you can talk about the future. You can tell them that you are in the process of preparing an interesting program that can help a particular domain of the company’s functioning. You can share with them some salient features to rouse their interest and tell them that you intend to make a presentation to the company after it is ready. Give a time frame and try to relate it to some stage of the selection process like the next round of interview or the project presentation session or so. By this, you not only endeavor to keep the contact channels with the company open, you also demonstrate before the board your enthusiasm and spirit of entrepreneurship.
