I’m so glad I bought my Roketa scooters in an impulse purchase. Otherwise, if I had read the reviews about Roketa scooters online, I might have never bought them. People bash them a lot. However, the two that I bought have been working fine. And they were sold at a very good price too.

It all happened when my son became 16. He wanted a car, which I said he couldn’t have (not the one he wanted anyway). I showed him some used cars, but he said he wanted something new. This prompted me to take him home and explain to him that if he wanted a new car, he would have to get it himself, someday in the future.

I thought the matter was forgotten, until two days later, he came back. He said he would settle for a motorcycle, which I objected. I considered it too dangerous and I didn’t think he would be able to ride it anyway. He insisted and we compromised on a scooter.

At that moment, my daughter, who is 18, was walking by. “Hey, if he’s getting a scooter, I want a scooter too.” Before it generated in further problem, I promised them to see what I could do.

That weekend, I visited a scooter dealer. I didn’t tell either of my children. I wanted to take a good look at the prices without any pressure. After seeing various models, I noticed a couple of red Roketa scooters, which caught my attention. They looked nice to me. I looked at the price and I was very surprised. The price for both Roketa scooters was not much more than what I planned to spend on just one scooter. Of course, I asked the dealer why they were cheaper than the rest. He just answered “because they’re from China.” I asked him if he would guarantee them and when he said he did. I bought them.

I called my children and asked them to take a taxi and come pick up their Roketa scooters. Although my daughter instantly adored her scooter, my son wasn’t as enthusiastic. I reminded him that it was the best he would get at the moment, and that if he didn’t like it, I could just return it (I couldn’t, but I was bluffing), at which point he looked at it with new eyes.

I guess I shouldn’t have let them ride their new Roketa scooters back home, but I was as excited as they were. I was of course, right behind them in the car.

Needless to say, my wife was less than happy with my decision. I might as well have attached dynamite sticks to my children and she would have reacted the same.

When they finally got their licenses, I let them drive their Roketa scooters again. To this day, they haven’t had a problem with them. Of course, I make them take their Roketa scooters for maintenance, which they pay from their own pocket.
