Do You Bite Your Tongue Or Stand Up For Yourself?

We all have different characteristics and our own unique set of general tendencies in how we behave and respond to situations.  Some people can appear aggressive or explosive in nature as they fire off sentences which are phrased like bullets, whilst others would seem to be quiet and withdrawn and totally incapable of saying "boo" to goose.

These, of course, are extreme positions, standing out on either side of a graduated scale.  It is also true that some of us can act in both of these extreme ways depending upon the circumstances which we are presented with.  A mother, for example, who perhaps would not stand up for herself, might have the ability to morph into a tiger bearing unsheathed claws when anything dared to threaten her child.

There is a time and a place for everything, but it can be difficult to respond in the most appropriate manner if it does not "fit" with your general temperament.  If you have become accustomed to biting your tongue instead of saying your piece, you will often find that you continue to respond in this way automatically, even though you may wish to change.  The pattern of behavior has become an automatic process which your logical desires may appear to have little control over.

Similarly, if you have become accustomed to displaying your emotions freely like lava exploding from a volcano, this pattern of behavior is also likely to have become an automatic reaction.  If you ask anyone who displays "Mr Angry" tendencies, they will all agree that they just cannot stop themselves, despite knowing that they will spend some time dealing with feelings of regret at a later time.

These patterns of behavior have been learned and then they become a part of who we are.  The more thought you give to the labels which you use to describe yourself the more you reinforce these tendencies.  It is therefore wise to consider carefully the labels which you use.

Most people believe that they cannot change, that they will always be controlled by their instinctive and automatic emotional responses.  And to a degree they are correct in this assumption.  If you don't think that you can change, you cannot.  It is this thought which limits your ability to change.

If you want to change you can.  Where there is a will there is a way.

Most often you will find that what underlies either of the extreme emotional tendencies mentioned earlier is a lack of true self-confidence.  If you feel confident and comfortable then it is easy to say your piece.  If you feel confident you are far less likely to feel out of control, which is what gives rise to fear, frustration and anger.

Your actions will always reflect the way in which you think.  Habitual thoughts and behaviors can be changed so long as you want to change them.  You can become the person you want to be.  Hypnosis makes this process easier as it provides access to your subconscious mind, which is that part that acts automatically and spontaneously.  With the help of hypnosis downloads you can build your confidence and plan to respond to situations in a calm and positive manner.
