Is It Possible to Care and Show Concern and Compassion When We Are Going Through a Hard Season?

How can we care for others in our and their darkest moment? Is it possible?
This may appear a comparatively unimportant word, but then again, Jesus Christ never speaks an unimportant word.
Jesus is being crucified, and it is nearing noon.
There is a massive crowd viewing this horrendous spectacle, but two pairs of eyes are locked onto each other.
Momentarily, no one else seems to matter, as Jesus Christ espies His weeping broken hearted mother.
Jesus knows it is right to honour and respect your father and mother and He is certainly honouring His Father.
We honour people when we pay attention to them, and Jesus does this amidst all the humiliation, anguish, and pain He is experiencing.
Most of His friends have scarpered. His disciples have disappeared, all except John, the beloved disciple.
Jesus meets some practical needs, and places His mother, Mary, into the care of John, and tells John to care for Mary as his own mother.
All Jesus has to give His mother is John, a friend, a close disciple. It is a very tender scene.
Mary's entire life has been one of emotional upset, since the angel appeared to her indicating that she would give birth to Jesus.
When her Son was born in Bethlehem, she and Joseph had to flee to Egypt as Herod determined to kill the Christ child. Mary would know that children were massacred because of her Son.
When Jesus began His ministry in Nazareth men tried to kill Him by pushing Him off a cliff. How would Mary live alongside these neighbours following that display of violent hatred?
Mary is now at the foot of the cross watching her sinless Son being murdered.
Jesus does all He can do, with such concern and compassion, giving Mary over to the trustworthy care of faithful John. Such love!
In the Church of Jesus Christ we are called to show such loving care and compassionate concern.
This is deeper than politics and religion. This is obeying Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and that is seldom easy.
Jesus is hanging on the cross of Calvary on the north side of the city of Jerusalem and in agony and anguish He demonstrates such care and concern and this same risen living Jesus calls you and me to follow Him.
Do not permit sin or self pity prevent you from serving others.
Read the account of the crucifixion in the four Gospels and hear the voice of God speaking to you and inspiring you and motivating you and encouraging you.
