Gain Mastery Over Your Life While Watching TV by Laura Whitelaw

Have you ever watched a movie or television program that stirred up negative emotions within you? Here's a way that you can live a more blissful life and heal your negative emotions and beliefs while watching television.

You can use energy therapies such as Emotional Freedom Techniques or EFT to tap out your negative feelings while watching the news, a movie or your favorite sitcom. EFT is a meridian based therapy that involves tapping on various points on the face and body while repeating an affirmation. In this case however, we don't need to repeat any affirmations because if the television program you are watching is bringing up anything negative within you, you are already "triggered" so to speak.

You can gently tap 6 or 7 times on each of the tapping points on your face and body beginning at the top of your head and working your way down. You don't need to say a set up phrase, nor do you need to repeat any reminder phrases, you can just simply tap while watching television and clear any emotions or negative beliefs that are holding you back from living a less than blissful life.

Let's take a movie as an example. You're watching a movie and in it, the husband is cheating on his wife. You have a fear that this could happen to you and so in viewing this program, you begin to feel a whole host of negative emotions. Begin tapping while allowing yourself to relax and you will likely find that at the end of the movie - this scenario is no longer one that plagues your thoughts. You are free because your mind and energy are no longer taken up by worrying about the possibility of something happening and at the same time - you become less likely to attract this sort of behaviour from your husband.

Another example might be a news program. You are watching a story about a celebrity who has gotten into some trouble for uttering various racial slurs. You are extremely annoyed and so begin tapping out those feelings. Oh but wait, if you tap out those annoyed feelings won't you then be condoning the celebrity's behaviour? Not at all. In fact just the way that you may be less likely to attract your husband cheating on you as in the above example, you will also help to heal this type of behaviour on a global level. Yes, you are that powerful! Imagine if everyone were to clear their negative emotions this way. Don't you think our world would be a much more peaceful place to live? It was Mahatma Gandhi that said, "Be the peace that you wish to see in the world" and that is how you can change your life as well as the world around you.
