The 2010 Buick Lucerne is a capable large sedan with a sophistcated sense of style and high levels of comfort. The basis of the sedan is the 4.6L V8; while the engine has been used in other vehicles sold by General Motors, it feels uniquely at home in the Lucerne. The 4.6L V8 produced two hundred and ninety-two horsepower at six thousand three hundred revolutions per minute, and two hundred eighty-eight pounds of torque at four thousand five hundred revolutions per minute. The engine runs on premium unleaded gasoline, and delivers its power through a four-speed automatic through the front wheels.
The Environmental Protection Agency rates the Lucerne's fuel efficiency at seventeen miles per gallon in city driving, and twenty six miles per gallon on the highway. Performance figures for this large, six-passenger sedan are quite good; the Lucerne was able to reach sixty miles per hour from a standing start in seven and five-tenths seconds. The Lucerne was able to cover the quarter mile in fifteen and seven-tenths seconds, with a maximum speed of ninety-three miles per hour. As befitting a luxury sedan, the Buick Lucerne comes with a long list of standard features. The standard equipment list includes dual-zone automatic climate control, an AM/FM stereo with 6-disk CD changer and MP3 capability, Harmon Kardon speakers, and heated front seats. Safety features on the Lucerne include standard traction control, child door locks, and anti-lock brakes on all four wheels. The Lucerne has received five star crash ratings for driver front, passenger front, and rollover crash testing. The Buick Lucerne packs a variety of safety and luxury features in a very attractive package.
