Free Google Advertising - Gain Free Traffic and Conversions Using Google by Conner Hayes

We all know that Google is the most used search engine in the world. Getting listed on the front-page of search results is the goal of all webmasters, and everyone will try to achieve this in different ways. The easiest way, but indeed the more expensive, is to run a PPC (Pay-Per-Click) campaign with Google AdWords.

PPC campaigns can be extremely successful, however you must be able to manage and optimize each individual ad to see which ones are performing well and which ones are just wasting money. This requires constant monitoring of keywords, click-thru rates, and most importantly, how much money you're spending in relation to how many sales you're getting (conversion ratio). If you've ever used AdWords before, I'm sure you've had an instance where you spent a few hundred dollars in just minutes with no sales at all! It's happened to the best of us.

There is an alternative to PPC that requires much more work, but in the end will bring you more conversions with only a small, if any, investment. This alternative is Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

By editing the HTML of a website so it contains specific things the indexing algorithm of Google will look for, top positions under the organic search results can be achieved. By 'organic', I'm referring to the natural search results, or all of the results NOT listed under the sponsored ads (PPC) section. SEO can be a very long and fruitless endeavor, but if you are able to gain a front-page listing, you will gain more traffic than if you used AdWords. Plus, all of the clicks you get will be free!

If you ask any well-known internet marketer, they will agree that organic search listings are much better than PPC ads. SEO can be difficult to understand and may take months until you see any results, but it is definitely worth the effort. There are methods, however, to get organic, front-page listings on Google that do not require extensive knowledge in SEO. These methods have only been discovered recently, but are starting to take the internet marketing community by storm.
