How to Promote a Product Part II by Mark Fortimer

JOINT VENTURES
If you have no email list, or only a very small list, you will find it difficult to make many sales. In such as case you could enter into a joint venture with somebody who has large lists. Offer a proportion of the sales in exchange for the joint partners emailing their lists with the product offer.

Your product will have to be good, since nobody will want to be associated with a poor product. You will also have to offer them more than just a normal 50% affiliate commission. Around 60% should be enough, and they are sales you would never have made by yourself. You are better to get 40% of the sales price than none. It might be your product, but it is their list, and it probably took a lot longer to build than your product did!

DIRECT EMAILING
There are many companies online that send out mass emailings on a daily basis to people who have agreed to receive them. Spamming is therefore not an issue. Some programs are paid individually and some involve a single lifetime payment, then you can use the software whenever you need to. Your emails will reach 100,000s or even millions, and even just a 1% open rate exposes your product to thousands of people interested in your general subject.

PAY PER CLICK ADVERTISING
PPC advertising ensures that your advert will be read by people who have an interest in what you have to offer. There are some pitfalls, but if set yourself an advertising budget that you can afford, and stick to it, you can usually do quite well if you know what you are doing. Your advert will need to be properly designed and worded, and you will have to use the appropriate keywords to make sure that your visitors are as focused on your product as possible. If done properly, your campaign could you off to a quick start. However, you must stick to your budget or you could lose out big time.

Knowing how to promote a product properly comes with experience, but if you start with the above techniques, you should get off to a good start fairly quickly.
