Then there is the squamous cell carcinoma which tends to develop in middle-aged to elderly people who have had long-term sun exposure. You will notice that you are suffering from the squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer if you have a crusted or scaly area of the skin with a red inflamed base that looks almost like a growing tumor.
Then of all the types of skin cancer that are most common, there is melanoma. This is the most talked about type of skin cancer, even though it only accounts for about 4% of all diagnosed skin cancers. You can treat melanoma successfully as long as it is detected and dealt with early on, before it becomes a major problem. If left untreated it can actually be deadly.
It is important that you deal with skin cancer once you have it of course, but the best idea of all will be for you to take the important precautionary steps so that you can work towards preventing the development of skin cancer as best as you can and this means taking care of yourself and doing what you need to prevent skin cancer.
