Basal Cell Carcinoma
When it comes to the most common types of skin cancer, the basal cell carcinoma is one of the most commonly developed by far. This is actually known for being the most common cancer of all among humans and so it is definitely one that you are going to want to watch out for. This is the type of skin cancer that develops in the basal cells which are the skin cells that are located in the lowest layer of the epidermis.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Then there is also the squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer, which is another of the most common types of skin cancer that a person can develop. This is a type of skin cancer that develops in the squamous cells and it most commonly develops in people who have had long-term sun exposure throughout their life.
This is why you are told to wear sunscreen to protect your skin while you are outside in the sunshine, so that you do not develop skin cancer and in particular this type of skin cancer.
Melanoma
Finally of the most common types of skin cancer, there is melanoma. This is perhaps the most talked about type of skin cancer, even though it does only account for 4% of the skin cancers in people. It is considered as being the most lethal form of skin cancer however, due to the fact that it can rapidly spread to the lymph system and internal organs and even result in death.
It is important that you take the precautionary steps towards preventing skin cancer, so that you will not even have to worry about treatment and more than anything this means protecting yourself from the sun because UV rays are the most liable cause of skin cancer.
