Tournament Of Champions Returns

Harrah's have announced the return of the World Series of rakeback poker Tournament of Champions and want poker players everywhere to vote for their favourite 20 bracelet winners from the list of 500 odd. When you consider just how many characters there are in the poker world it may well be a bit of a popularity contest for these players. There are some certainties out there with players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth and Phil Ivey all extremely watchable poker players but for immensely unlikeable players like Jamie Gold the poll might well make dismal reading! Myself I think I would probably include Gold just for the controversy he is likely to stir up with many players openly criticising his attitude and style of winning and losing. My ideal 20 I think would be: Doyle Brunson, Freddy Deeb, Eli Elezra, Antonio Esfandiari, Chris Ferguson, Joe Hachem, Hamie Gold, Barry Greenstein, Dan Harrington, Jennifer Harman, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, John Juanda, Howard Lederer, Robert Mizrachi, Daniel Negreanu, Scotty Nguyen, Annette Obrestad, Greg Raymer and David Williams. If you think of that lot with the additions of Annie Duke, Matusow and Joe Cada it would be some tournament to watch with very few cheap chips to be won. Can't help thinking that some of these players won't make the cut as no doubt every player out there has their own favourites they want to see. Now to bore you with some of my own poker. Just changed stakes after a month of bad beats and beat play has cut my bankroll – now down to some pretty micro levels but hopefully should be able to find some tasty fish. Have been grinding out the hours but things aren't going well. I've run KK into AA three times in the last two days and lost 6 out of 7 flips largely due to my own stupidity.
